Tim Chapman

Tim Chapman

Tim Chapman co-founded Personal Mutual Fund Management (PMFM, Inc) along with Don Beasley in 1991, having begun his investment career in 1981 while studying Economics at the University of Georgia. In 1991, he teamed with Don to create the technology-driven actively managed investment model that has evolved into the keystone of PMFM's investment management success. Several years later, Tim created 401k Toolbox to bring PMFM's 'win by not losing' investment strategy to 401(k) plan participants nationwide. Over 30,000 401(k) investors now benefit from the professional managed account services offered by 401k Toolbox and PMFM. That number is rapidly growing since the 2006 Pension Protection Act included managed accounts among investments approved as Qualified Default Investment Alternatives (QDIA). The recognition derived from the successful development of its investment model, and from landmark work in supporting retirement plan participants has brought Tim, PMFM and 401k Toolbox added national recognition, including being named Defined Contribution News Advice Provider of the Year, and a cover article in Investment Advisor Magazine. Tim is now a noted speaker on financial planning and investment management topics and industry conferences and meetings nationally.


Jud Doherty, CFA

Jud Doherty

Jud Doherty joined PMFM, Inc. in 2001 after 10 years in investment consulting, with an emphasis on defined contribution investing strategies and vendor evaluations. Under Jud's leadership, PMFM and 401k Toolbox have achieved national recognition, and a presence in the 401(k) marketplace as an industry-leading account management provider. Jud earned his a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is also a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.


Tim McCabe

Tim McCabe

In 2003, Tim McCabe came to PMFM and 401k Toolbox to assume responsibility for the distribution of PMFM's discretionary 401(k) management service, 401k Toolbox®. Tim has over 18 years experience in the institutional investment business, having spent the early part of his career as a defined contribution consultant before segueing into sales and marketing where he became a Vice President for Fidelity Investments, taking responsibility as Manager for the Southeast Region for Fidelity's Institutional Retirement Services Company (FIRSCO). Under Tim's direction, 401k Toolbox sales have set new records each year, and are accelerating again through 2008 as new relationships are successfully established. Tim received his BBA in finance from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Science in risk management from Georgia State University. Tim is an active member of the SEBC, ASPA, and the Pension and Profit Sharing Council.


Michael Chlan
Chief Operations Officer
Michael Chlan

Michael Chlan came to PMFM in 2001 to develop and manage an IT department capable of meeting the needs of PMFM and 401k Toolbox. Michael has overseen the development of the critical software programs and technology necessary for continued growth and effective management of PMFM's growing enterprise. He brings over 20 years of technology experience in financial services for both Fortune 500 and startup companies. At Equifax, he led the development of new databases and data selection technologies that facilitated the creation of ChoicePoint, Inc. as a separate entity. As CTO of Consumer Financial Network, Michael built the first multi-vendor financial services shopping ad comparison system prompting high level investments by GE Capital. Michael is the lead inventor on several technologies and financial services related patents.


Brad Thompson, CFA
VP of Portfolio Management

Brad Thompson joined PMFM in 2005, bringing 20+ years of financial analysis, investment management, and fund management experience with him to PMFM, where he manages the PMFM portfolio management department. Brad has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from the University of Georgia, and also holds the Chartered Analyst designation. Brad is a member of the CFA Institute and the Bermuda Society of Financial Analysts and also holds the Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist Designation. Brad has served as a Director on the boards of numerous public companies and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Speedemissions, Inc. ("SPMI"-OTC:BB) as a member of the audit committee and the compensation committee.


Steve Beard

Steve Beard joined PMFM's management team in 2007 following 7 years as a marketing consultant to PMFM and 401k Toolbox. As consultant, Steve helped develop new directions and initiatives that lead to PMFM's 401k Toolbox program being added to nationally distributed 401(k) products. Steve now directs the PMFM marketing team. An Auburn University alumnus, Steve began his 30+ year financial services career as a financial planner (and early CFP advocate) before shifting to marketing management in 1986, eventually becoming Marketing Director for a nationally known family of mutual funds. In 1990, Steve became senior vice president of a Wall Street-based marketing consultancy before founding his own consulting practice, Stephen Beard & Associates, in 1996.


Gregory L. Morris

Gregory L. Morris

Gregory L. Morris is the senior portfolio manager for PMFM, Inc. Prior to this role, Greg served as a Trustee and Advisor to the MurphyMorris ETF Fund and as Treasurer and Chief Executive Officer of MurphyMorris Money Management Co. and MurphyMorris.com. Greg has been a technical market analyst for over 30 years ranging from analysis software development to website analysis and education, to money management. He has written two books, "Candlestick Charting Explained," "The Complete Guide to Market Breadth Indicators," and is writing his third book for McGraw-Hill on "Technical Analysis for Money Managers." He was a Navy fighter pilot, is a graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons "Top Gun" School, and holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas.


Dianne Harrison
Director of Operations
Dianne Harrison

Dianne is the Director of Operations at PMFM. Dianne joined PMFM in December 2003 with over 34 years of experience in Employee Benefit and Defined Contribution Accounting, Cash Management and Recordkeeping. She served as an Assistant Vice President for the First National Bank of Atlanta/Wachovia in their Trust - Employee Benefit Department and as Manager of the Accounting and Reconciliation Department at Benefit Services Corporation (wholly owned subsidiary of MetLife) in Atlanta, Georgia.
